Default Ripple Hooks: How stupid is this?

I have a red 2010 Cube SL with a black interior. There are two black ripple hooks in the front and two holes for hooks in the back. I don't want these holes to be empty and wish that the car had come with two hooks as they are in the front. To buy hooks you have to pay $38 (here in Canada) and you get three knobs in peach, lemon and lime. You can't get pairs of colours unless you buy two packages. Nor can you buy black. Aside from this outrageous price for three little plastic knobs you can only install mismatched pairs, if you want pairs, as I do. If you want to play with colours then you have 4 holes for a set of 3 hooks. I just don't understand this as a design option or as a Nissan marketing decision.

That IS crazy! I just have the two black ones, but would have liked four to match the Caribbean blue of my car!

It's silly that they wouldn't give you 4 to start with in a base color like the black... I can understand charging for the funky colored ones, but only 2 standard is silly...
I've heard people talk about going to a hardware store and getting cupboard knobs to use instead of the ripple hooks... you just replace the long screw they come with with a shorter one. Depending on what design of knobs you can find, it could work.

Hi Jo Anne,

At least the pastel coloured hooks could potentially harmonise with your Caribbean blue. I don't see them working with my Firecracker Red. I need black.

jkm - I thought so too, but I can't buy a set of four in all blue! Bummer!

KandA - That's a great idea about the cupboard knobs! I just might look into that! Thanks!

Sounds like we should all do a group order and take colors that we want out of the package.

RtP, that would make sense if you didn't mind the high price of each hook and colours that you don't necessarily want. I figure each hook, after the dealer discount will cost around $8 + taxes. I phoned Nissan head office and complained. So they opened a file for me and said not to expect a response.

Ha! I love the honesty.

By group order I meant a bunch of us from the forums here decide on different colors and order a few packages and split the cost. :P

Yes, that's what I thought you meant. But I want black which you can't buy. Maybe next year.

LOL gotta love Dealership OEM prices... Here's hoping someone on eBay is going to create the same thing at a fraction of the price... I would be ALL over that LOL
