Default Why am i bouncing on the highway?

Hello, Everyone! Just picked up my Cube and just found this forum. Glad you're here.

Just picked up my 2009 Cube yesterday p.m. Has 16,300 miles. Didn't notice this when test driving, but didn't get to drive too far due to rush hour traffic kicking in.

When driving, the ride is really stiff so I'm feeling every bump in the road. When I read all the reviews, it always talks about the confortable ride, but I'm not getting that. It almost feels good to come to a stop so not to be jarred around. The tires look like I could get another 4,000 out of them yet -- no bulges or warping that I can see.

Any suggestions? Can I adjust the shocks? Thanks!

My '10 cube has almost 16,000 miles on it, and the ride is smooth as can be. Do you know if yours had any aftermarket suspension kits added, as that could make the ride stiffer? Also too much air in the tires can cause a rougher ride, pressure should be about 32psi. Maybe someone else can chime in and lend some further insight.

I suspect a few reasons for the harsh ride. 1. Over inflated tires, if you have the Toyo tires there max. psi is 51 I keep mine at 40 psi and have a great ride going on 30k. 2. Steel belt seperation which will not be visable to the naked eye, a quality tire shop can inspect your tires and if you have seperation without any scuff marks or obvious abuse, you should get a pro-rated price on a replacement since you only have 16k 3. An out of round tire, it happens for numerous reasons, usually hitting a curb. In good sunlight look at the sidewalls for scuffs or indentations. I doubt your cube still under warranty has an after market suspension kit, I also think the shocks should be good for a long time but a busted spring from the prior owner is a possible reason that can be easily checked on a lift. Lastly the standard shocks cannot be adjusted. Good Luck, and they do ride very nice:
