Does anyone have this problem? It's 40 degrees outside. My little Cube is sleeping in the driveway. I go outside to crank it up "push button style". The AC is set to Auto. I push the ignition starter, the engine fires up, then all of a sudden an abnormally loud grinding/humming sound whales out from within the engine compartment that lasts 2 to 3 seconds. It immediately kicks off "which happens to coincide with the AC Compressor kicking on and off".
I have tested this theory by leaving the Air/AC unit off upon start and its as quite as a lamb. It only happens when the engine has set for 2 hours or more.
I just bought the car 2 days ago. I mentioned it to the dealer and he said that there is no know issues with Cubes making that sound and they were not able to reproduce the noise "as the engine was hot and I did not want to wait 2 hours there at the dealership". He told me to drive it around for a month and if it keeps happening that they will replace the fan motor "which I do not think is the issue".
Any thought???
Thanks in advance!
