Wink Any tips on how to obtain free tickets to an Auto Show?

I have never been to an Auto Show, and I would really like to go to the one that will be here and hopefully I will be purchasing a Cube in the very near future, I was wondering if there are any tips on ways to obtain complimentary entrance tickets? Thanks.

Some dealers will give them if you shopping for a car with them. We go to the Detroit Auto show every year. One year we had a guy just give us a ticket as he was walking out. But to go to the auto show is worth the $12 and dont forget the parking.

If you're talking about one of the more local ones like the Motor Trend branded ones we have here in Hawaii, the sponsoring bank usually gives out free tickets to their customers (or I think to anyone who goes in and asks.) They also have some days/times with free admission. But if you're talking about a big name show like the ones where manufacturers introduce a car, then I don't know.

Boy, I don't know about free tickets! Although you'd sure think the dealerships would be giving tickets away, with the economy like it is!

The last auto show we went to was in 1989, and it was really worth every penny of the ticket cost. It's a great place to look at ALL the cars, trucks, whatever, in ONE place, at ONE time! You can sit in the cars, check everything out, ask questions, get brochures, etc. The only thing you can't do right then is test drive! It's definitely worth it -- helped us make the decision on which car to get!

Good luck!
