Angry SOLICITING is NOT ACCEPTABLE on this site - this needs to stop

I would appreciate knowing from other members, if they are bothered, as I am, by the "SOLICITING", which is freely going on - and continuing, on our forum?

I do not appreciate it. On other forums it is absolutely NOT acceptable.

A fellow member (see below) has, several times, placed links on her Cube postings, to a car product.

This is bothering me, and I do NOT wish to be on a forum whereby this is continuing.

What can be done about this?

Thanks.

HERE IS A SAMPLE OF HOW THIS SOLICITING IS APPEARING:

I agree with you. This is absolutely NOT allowed on other forums. You can talk about something you purchased, like all weather floor mats or splash guards, but not advertise a product you sell.

I don't think this forum has a moderator, so not sure how it can be stopped, or if other members even find it objectionable???????

I definitely agree, especially since we're all able to enjoy this site courtesy of the paying sponsors.

Another thing that would help is to have titles that actually suggest to readers what the content of the message is (the title of this thread is a good example of a helpful title.)

Thanks for the support guys! We are paying sponsors and it irks me to no end to see others capitalize on the lack of moderation on threads.

Scott - Is the software for this forum able to support a moderator?

I'm a moderator on a Parrotlet (small Parrot) message board and we have extra tools available to take care of spam and other unwanted threads and posts. My favorite is "ban and clean" -- one click and the person's threads and posts are deleted and the person is banned from the site -- oh the power!

We do have an Administrator, right?

We should have moderators here...

This site is owned by Autoforums which owns MANY other forums as well. I'm going to look into this and find out why its not gettting moderated here!

That would be great! I imagine if they own lots of forums, they don't have time to check in.

This site looks and acts pretty similar to the Parrotlet forum, so maybe there are extra tools available to a moderator. The forum Administrator (and owner) added them to my profile when I became a moderator, so I don't really know how it's done.

I don't know why spammers target a little bird forum, but they do!

Anything you can find out about this will be appreciated by all of us. We want this to be a clean and welcoming forum.

Pretty annoying, I went to that site and started to get a free sample and changed my mind.

The owner or whatever called me and left a voicemail. I was going to call him back and ask him how his spam was doing but got lazy and forgot.

Yes, please report as suggested by WHITECUBE.

Did you see the "offending" member's latest post yesterday? The title contains the word "freedom." It's no longer limited to just links to the commercial websites. The title and entire content of the post are about a product being sold on those sites.

If you view that post, the "REPORT" icon is there, just as WHITECUBE described.
