Tonight I test drove a 1.8S with a manual transmission. There seemed to be some throttle lag in that the revs did not immediately fall when taking your foot off the gas to change gears. Has anyone else noticed this? If so, any suggestions on how to remedy it?

Welcome to the world of drive by wire. I have have the same truble in my 06 Impreza. Step on the gas some times to pull out into traffic and nothing.

My suggestion is not to settle for throttle lag. There are lots of cars with drive-by-wire, where the programming does not interfere with the driving experience.
