May Buy a Cube....Interior color?

I may purchase a Cube soon. My wife and I just did an hour long test-drive today in an SL with the preferred package. We think that we have the exterior color picked out, but we're not sure on the interior. I did not like the all black interior at all. In direct sunlight, some of the blacks on the dash did not match. I love the two tone with the light gray. However, the light gray is very light, and I'm worried about wear and tear. It looks as if it can get very dirty very easily. I have a seven year old son, but he is so clean, that he may have an ocd issue about washing his hands. I have an 07 Honda Fit with the light interior, but it's not quite as light as the cube. It is holding up well. I think the all black interior would hold up the longest, but the light gray looks 100 times better. Any advice? Thanks.

I agree with you completely! I have a Caribbean Blue SL with the SL Preferred Package, Splash Guards, Interior Designer Package and Interior Lighting Package. I've had it for TWO WHOLE WEEKS and I love it!! So fun to drive! I waited FOUR MONTHS for it!

Anyway, about the interior. I wish the gray had been darker or the black lighter! I went with the black simply because it won't show dirt and wear and tear as much. It will show lint, but that can be vacuumed off! The light gray will show dirt in a heartbeat, and we don't have any children.

What I really would have liked with the Caribbean Blue is a medium brown interior. I had a 2001 PT Cruiser previous to the Cube and it had a taupe interior. The seats were leather and suede and never showed any dirt or wear and tear.

Oh well, can't have everything!

Thanks jodeg1945. I think that my wife and I have settled on the same exterior color that you have. Now I need someone else to argue the light interior choice. I just like it so much better.

The Caribbean Blue is definitely beautiful!

I also lie the gray better, but it just doesn't seem practical -- I've never owned any WHITE slacks, for the same reason!

I sure wish they had another color choice or leather -- oh well, I may WANT it ALL, but I can't have it all!

I think they're ultimately going to wear pretty similarly.

My non-negotiable was that I wanted the black interior (we have a dog that sheds A LOT, and she's dark brown). And what's the first thing I noticed when we bought the car? That my dog now has a lot of GRAY hairs that are showing up on the black interior...LOL.

Truly, I think they're both pretty equal...they both have their attributes and their problems...so I'd go with what you liked better.

I think leather should absolutely be an option. So should a panoramic roof of some sort. And I think they should offer a sporty Cube model with a bit more pep, some better seats and an appearance package.

Grey is definitely a pretty interior. The 2 tone looks good. BUT, it will get dirty. The Black will always stay black. Tough choice. Kids or Pets...my choice is black.
However we bought grey (wife's pick).....I'm not complaining.

Well, I too went with the Caribbean Blue and Gray interior which was my choice. I don't have any dogs to ride in mine and only the occasional teenage grandchild so the lighter color didn't bother me. My wife has a new Altima with the dark interior and it shows every single piece of light colored lint, fuzz, my gray hair, etc............... lol
