Default Bluetooth giving me the blues

One of the reasons I got the SL instead of the S was for bluetooth connectivity. And since July 13 when I got my SL, I was able to enjoy handsfree calling with my Nokia E65 without problems (actually my phone would sometimes freeze if I was turning the engine on/off while running errands but I just thought that was because the E65 is not one of the "Nissan approved" phones). But as of yesterday I have had ZERO bluetooth connectivity. My phone is simply unable to connect anymore. The car system says no phones are paired. I tried re-pairing, which worked, but as soon as the system says "Do you want a custom ring tone?" and I reply (yes or no), the system closes and my phone is still not connected. Tried my wife's E65, still no success. Tried my Samsung Blackjack, again no success. Went to the dealer and the service guy tried his LG phone, same problem. Now my dealer says I have to bring the car in for service but I am wondering what the hell is going on. My only explanation is that I cancelled my XM radio trial on October 12. But how can XM radio subscription affect bluetooth? Makes no sense at all.

I don't know if you've done this but you might check to see if your phone has any software updates........the XM disconnect won't cause the problem.

Hope this helps.

So, after a week in the shop, my SL is back. They had to replace the whole bluetooth module. Not sure if I will be billed for this yet, but they said they are talking to Nissan to see if my warranty covered this. Now I am no longer interested in using my Nokia E65 and I am switching back to the Samsung Blackjack (which is approved by Nissan to use in the Cube). I hope others who are using non-approved phones will do the same.
