you are correct, "after removing foot from brake", sorry about that
With my Cube if the radio/CD player is on when I turn the car off, if after removing foot from brake, I once again quickly push the "ignition" button the power to the radio/CD player comes back on however the dash lights, etc. do not come back on. With foot off brake just cycle thru the "ignition button" and you will get "off" "accesorries" and then when the dash lights come on and "brake" signal (that is where you would push the button to start engine)
I don't think this was a change the dealer made when I took delivery,
